MCi is working on numerous new area's where actuation can be a benefit. For instance opening and closing charge port doors or even the adjustment of beamer based fire detection sensors. We are also delivering actuators for satellite receiver terminals.
Fire detection and calibration
By using a standardized actuator from the automotive business, MCi was able to provide a quick and cost-effective solution for smoke detection applications that was globally available at large scale. Since more than 10 years MCi has now been growing our actuation business on these smoke detection applications.
Satellite
Scale and time to market was a key challenge developing our actuators for the satellite user terminal business. Similar to smoke detection applications, we focused on using existing actuator platforms which we had in production for the automotive business, adapting these actuators for the satellite user terminal allowed us to have a fast time to market at high volume.
